A little time. A closer look.
Shinjuku Gyoen combines contrasting garden landscapes within the city. Follow a pond edge, a broad lawn or a quieter tree-lined path. Spring blossoms and autumn leaves change the view; seasonal opening times and entry arrangements also change.
Something to notice
Choose one tree or reflection and give it a minute. Compare the shapes close to you with the distant skyline. Which detail would you sketch rather than photograph?
A little consideration
Stay on permitted paths and lawns; protect plants and wildlife. Follow garden rules and staff directions. Check current notices, especially around busy blossom-season dates.
